Energy Reduction Through Lighting Solutions
Posted in General by Net Zero USA
Energy reduction through lighting solutions is less expensive than energy production. Energy production is one of the largest driving forces in the economy of any industrial country. Until now energy production has not been practical in small scale scenarios – Energy has generally depended on fossil fuels and large centralized utility-scale power plants.
Renewables have made decentralized energy production and usage practical and achievable. However, both efforts require much more upfront cost and capital than reducing electricity, especially through energy efficient lighting products.
“Even though LED lighting is not a new technology, the extreme efficiency, lower cost and high lumen output are recent and improving at a rapid pace. We can reduce a customer’s overall energy usage simply by starting their project and reducing energy burned by lighting. In addition to reducing their energy use and overall power bill, this effort can also potentially reduce peak demand charges and have a huge impact on their annual rates. We also have a smaller footprint to address if the customer decides to implement photovoltaic solar energy production.”Perry Bell from Net Zero USA, a national network of energy solution providers.
All lights use energy that is generally measured in watts (W). The time those watts are consumed equals kWh, which is what the power company bills you for. If you can reduce the wattage by a significant amount, then the residual energy cost for using that unit will be reduced as well.
In a business, where lights may be on for 10 to 24 hours a day, the opportunities are tremendous. Combine financial benefits with the intangible benefits from better full-spectrum lighting that improves working conditions and you have a great solution to enhance your business.
