LED Upgrade Helps Metal Plating Manufacturer See Big Savings
Somerville Plating of Melrose Place, Illinois has been serving the aerospace market for over 44 years, specializing in hard chrome, grinding and polishing of industrial metals. 8-foot T12 fluorescent light fixtures that were burning 165 watts every hour were retrofitted with Net Zero USA’s LED technology, resulting in approximately 63% savings, or a reduction down to just 60 watts. 4-foot T12 fluorescent light fixtures were also upgraded for efficiency by retrofitting 40-watt LED kits into fixtures that were previously burning 176 watts each hour.
Thanks to Net Zero USA’s LED lighting upgrade, Somerville Plating will realize more than 10,000 kWh reduction each year, saving over $7,000 dollars on energy and lamp and ballast replacements in the next 5 years. The total project – product and installation – will pay for itself in under 30 months thanks to $5,780.68 dollars worth of tax and utility incentives.
