In partnership with the LED lighting experts at Net Zero USA, Belmont Abbey College is on track to reduce their carbon emissions from lighting related energy consumption by 806 metric tons each year, setting a strong example for others to follow.
This two-phase lighting project involved retrofitting light fixtures with various LED lighting products that were installed directly into existing fixtures, a method that cuts down on both cost and waste.
In total, nearly 2,000 metal halide and fluorescent light fixtures were upgraded for energy efficiency, saving an average of 62% electricity consumption and over $84,000 dollars on lighting costs each year.
